Wimbledon: From Tennis Action to Courtside Fashion

This is written by guest reviewer, Emmanuelle Bramwell who loves to read about tennis.

This new book by journalist Jessica Bumpus is, in my opinion, an essential for Wimbledon fans. The title really does sum it up: a guide on everything you need to know.

The book starts off with a history of the sporting action, describing the tournament from its early days to today, with the fiercest rivalries to the longest match ever played, to the youngest and oldest winners. Then, it moves on to one of the most crowd-anticipated topics of The Championships: who is in the Royal Box? It covers the biggest icons that have been seen over the years, what they wore, and who they sat next to. After that, there is a history of the outfits worn by players at Wimbledon, providing information on the boldest looks there have been.

Next, the section titled ‘Remember When?’ sums up the most iconic moments from The Championships over time, such as the time when Steffi Graf received a wedding proposal! Finally, there are a few pages that explain what happens to the courts at the end of the tournament.

Complete with interesting facts and pictures on every page, the book did not disappoint and I would definitely recommend!
