Pincho Nothing IS Possible
Ben Sanders
Little Tiger
Pincho is a capybara (in case you’ve never met one, they look very similar to over-sized guinea pigs and come from South America). These creatures spend most of their time doing absolutely nothing and they are always happy.
This story, so we’re told by the bird narrator, is about ‘the chill-est, happiest capybara ever and his name is Pincho. However, the bird believes that to be happy Pincho’s never worries, never hurries lifestyle needs changing; he should be busy from first thing in the morning and to that end has made him a list of things to do.
Today though is destined to be a seize the day kind of day full of exciting action such as kicking goals of the winning sort, climbing the highest heights and swallowing his fear.

What about escaping from the jaws of danger though – possible or not? I wonder.
Make sure you read the title of this book carefully; it’s key to the crucial lesson that Pincho is about to teach not only the yellow bird, but all of us, that rest and relaxation need to be vital elements in everyone’s life, ie Nothing IS possible.
Ben Sanders’ modern parable is splendidly illustrated and told in a wonderfully droll, slightly tongue-in-cheek style. A book to share, talk about and act upon (or not) with KS1 children.
